On a side note, if you haven't been to Kismet yet you need to go. Every time I walk in there I am astounded with the great selection of unique clothes at super reasonable prices. Please go, you'll love it.

Throwing Tomatoes is Just Rude
Presenting my newest obsession, don't hit me, or think I am crazy. I saw this skirt today and I am obsessed! Ok I just lied, I saw it last week on my girlfriend and was obsessed then too. You can get the brand, Flying Tomatoes, locally at Kismet or online at Piperlime. Prices range from $36 to $96 depending on where you buy. When you see me living in this skirt this fall, don't judge me.

Always the Bridesmaid and Never the Pregnant Guest, Until Now
If you've ever had the less than awesome experience of shopping for maternity clothes you know that the whole industry is a total racket! If you've been fortunate enough to have multiple children you know investing in maternity clothes is silly and you try to get by with what you have or buy non-maternity items that work now and "later." But what are you supposed to do when you have an event to go to, such as a wedding? Is this the time to buy a maternity dress that you will literally wear once? Or do you try to squeeze into something non-maternity and hope it works?
I think you could go either way, you can get away with a lot when pregnant. If going that maternity route go for something super fashionable. It's not like you'll have to worry if you'll "get to wear it again." This jumpsuit is super fashionable and in style right now. You cat totally dress it up with some jewelry, make-up and the right shoes.
If you don't want to invest in a maternity outfit I strongly suggest considering Eileen Fisher clothing. I know what you're thinking (believe me I have said it out loud) but her clothes are honestly really pretty. Take for example this cobalt blue silk dress. It is a great color, well made, etc. Though it may look a little dowdy on this size two model, it will be stunning with your baby bump. It is also super forgiving and and you might actually wear it again when not pregnant, but rather feeling bloated instead.

Stevie, it's Sweaters and Lace, Right?
I am loving the resurgence of feminine skirts and chunky sweaters this fall. I loved it in the late 90's with my knee high boots and I am ready to go for it again, with updated shoes of course.
Here are a few pieces from Nordstrom to create a similar look. You can also finds some additional inspiration by clicking here
Vince Camuto Lace Overlay Back Zip Skirt-$119
If pairing the lace skirt with this Trina Turk Nitika Crop Merino Wool Sweater - $106.80- consider an untucked blouse underneath.
Love this Current/Eillott Letterman Sweater for $100.80
Pairing the lace skirt with this asymmetrical Eileen Fisher Bateau Tunic will add some additional visual interest for $159.
And of course, if you've been following my blog at all you will find a cute pair of high heel booties to make the look modern, sexy and still practical.

You Know What They Say About Big Feet...
You need big shoes (wink wink).
My friend is tall, taller than I am, and I know that she doesn't wear heels. She is also pretty shoe conservative. So this post is catered to her, but also includes some good alternatives that hopefully add enough spice for the rest of you, and possibly some fashion inspiration for my friend. All of these can be found online or in store at Nordstrom.

Pick up some Piperlime
Piperlime is a division of The Gap, but you can get all these really great other brands on their site.
They recently introduced their own line of clothing, the Piperlime Collection and it's pretty great! In addition to being super fashionable and in style, the price points are very reasonable. Click here to see the whole collection. Below are my favorite pieces.

I failed to get a romper this summer, so I feel like I need to make it happen now. Lucky for me this one exists.
Long Sleeve Drapey Romper, $139
Simple, classy, beautiful.
Metallic Pleated Maxi Skirt, $119
I think I could live in this shift dress. In cooler weather it would be adorable with a little jacket.
Layered Shift, $79
Love this bomber jacket. Talk about edgy but not intimidating.

Wear 'Em Cowgirl
For weeks now I've been contemplating cowgirl boots for this fall and winter. Coming from New Mexico where the only people who wear this style of boot are either from California or Texas (no offense- I love both states) I see them as a bit of fashion faux pax. But as I look in my closet at the three pair of knee high black boots I own and the two pair of brown in similar styles, I feel unmotivated to wear them again for another season. Denver is still a bit of a cow-town, and I think turning around the boot scene in Denver is long over due.
Rank and Style must think the same. Check out their selection of Western inspired boots/booties. http://www.rankandstyle.com/top-10-list/best-western-inspired-boots/isabel-marant-dicker-suede-ankel-boot/
I feel like if your going to do it, do it big. If you live in Denver, head to Sheplers for a huge selection. I personally am going to scout these out this weekend. They would be adorable with just about any dress or skirt and a pair of tights.
If you don't have a Sheplers you can certainly shop online. Nordstrom surprisingly also has a great
selection. Spice it up the season, maybe you'll even find a new cowboy to match your shoes.
